Wind Hoist has completed the installation of 56 Nordex 2.4MW N117 turbines at the 138MW Amakhala Emoyeni wind farm in South Africa’s Eastern Cape.
The project, which is near Bedford, was selected following the second round of the South African government’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme.
Cennergi, which is a joint venture between Exxaro and Tata Power, bought the rights to the project from Windlab in 2011.
The JV owns 95% of the project with the Cookhouse Community Trust and the Bedford Community Trust owning 2.5% each.
