Nordex is to supply turbines totalling 228MW for Eon’s Bruenning’s Breeze wind farm in Willacy County, Texas.
The German manufacturer will install 76 AW125/3000 machines, which will be commissioned by the end of next year.
The turbines will be installed on 87.5-metre tubular steel towers and have a rotor diameter of 125 metres.
Nordex said the AW125/3000 model is “designed for medium wind speed conditions like those found in the area near Bruenning’s Breeze, and makes it possible for Eon to realise a project with a low cost of energy”.
