Nordex has completed installation of a N149 turbine in the Netherlands, which the German manufacturer claims features the largest rotor deployed in the country.
The unit, one of two due to be installed, is located at the Heibloem extension project. The turbines have a rated output of 4.5MW, a 149-metre rotor and hub heights of 125 metres.

Cooperatie Zuidenwind is developing Heibloem, due online later this month, near Roermond in the Dutch province of Limburg.
The two turbines in Heibloem are an extension of Zuidenwind’s existing Neer wind farm, which comprises five wind turbines.
The foundations for the two new turbines use steel and concrete instead of pin piles, supplied by Dutch contractor CTE Wind.
