Nordex has begun offering the N175/6X turbine to onshore wind projects in Canada.
The OEM said the model utilised proven components based on its Delta4000 series and was available in a cold climate version to deliver “higher energy yields in challenging low-temperature environments”.
The N175/6.X, which has a 175-metre rotor and a rated output of up to 7MW, features anti-icing systems that Nordex claims can enable dependable performance in temperatures as low as -30C.
CEO North America Manav Sharma said: “The Nordex Group is currently strongly positioned to serve the Canadian market with our market leading and established Delta4000 product platform.
“With today’s introduction of the N175/6.X, Canadian customers would now be able to benefit from our experience in the market alongside our latest technology evolution on our platform, which will reduce the levelized cost of energy and will bring additional features like our Advanced Anti Icing System and higher hub heights.”
