Nordex Group booked turbine orders totalling 974MW in the third quarter of 2018, up from 203MW in the same period last year.
The German manufacturer was buoyed by deals in the US for 122 AW125 and AW132 machines, with total volume in the period in North America hitting 405MW.
A further 252MW was booked in South Africa and 99MW in Argentina, the company said.
In Europe, Nordex secured 218MW, with Belgium, Finland, France and Germany the strongest markets. The company received its first large order for the N149/4.0-4.5 turbine with an 81MW deal in Finland.
Nordex chief executive Jose Luis Blanco said: “With close to 1GW order intake in Q3, the Nordex Group has been able to show a very solid and stable new order performance over four consecutive quarters now.
“This is a result of our sound global footprint enabling us to serve our customers swiftly and flexibly in all markets.
“Initial projects for our new N149/4.0-4.5 turbine also show that our product development strategy is taking effect.”
