Nordex has won a turbine order for a 240MW wind farm in Texas, its first US agreement for the Delta4000 series.
The manufacturer will supply 50 N155/4.X turbines, operating with a rated power of 4.8MW.
The machines will be installed in 2021 at the undisclosed wind project for an unnamed client.
The turbines have a 155 metre rotor diameter.
Nordex chief sales officer Patxi Landa said: “We are pleased to once again deliver Delta4000 turbines to the USA.
“The wind farm will be the tenth Nordex Group project in South Texas. This brings our installed volume in this region to almost 1.9GW.”
The N155/4.X, part of the Delta4000 series, is “especially suited” to regions with lower turbulence and medium wind speeds.
It is also suited to sites which are not subject to strict regulatory requirements for sound emissions, said Nordex, making its installation possible in parts of the US, Latin America, South Africa and Spain.
In addition to the N155/4.X, Nordex also offers the new rotor as an N155/5.X in the 5MW segment to boost annual energy production per wind turbine.
