Nordex has received a turbine order in Brazil for the next phase of the 2400MW Serra Branca wind and solar cluster.
The manufacturer will supply eight AW132/3465 turbines for a 27.7MW project located in Serra Branca in north-eastern Brazil, being developed by French renewables player Voltalia.
Construction is scheduled to start in March 2021.
The order also includes servicing the turbines for 15 years.
The infrastructure work and wind farm’s operation will be carried out by Voltalia for Toda Energia do Brasil.
Nordex will install the eight turbines on 120-metre concrete towers produced at its local plant in Areia Branca in Rio Grande do Norte.
So far Nordex has provided turbines with 341MW of capacity for the Serra Branca cluster.
Toda Energia do Brasil is a subsidiary of Japan’s Toda Corporation, with operations in Japan, Brazil and regions of south-east Asia as well as Africa.
