German manufacturer Nordex has launched new management and visualisation software for its wind turbines.
The Scada system, dubbed OS Scada Edge, operates as a virtual, hardware-independent and automatic solution, the company said.
It is based on an industrial internet of things platform developed jointly with Software AG using the latter’s Cumulocity solution.
“The new Nordex OS Scada Edge offers the possibility of accessing and displaying more data as well as including other components of the wind farm – such as the substation or battery storage,” said Nordex.
“As this is a virtual solution, the new Scada system can also be applied to other wind farm components to be added later. It is fully hardware-independent and thus future-proof as it also operates on future generations of server hardware.”
The system is offered with turbines from the Delta and Delta4000 platforms and can also be deployed with older hardware.
Nordex Os Scada Edge stores data for up to five years and will be available from 2020.
