Nordex has secured a 67MW turbine order for a wind project in the west of Ukraine.
Nordex’s regular Turkish customer, Eksim Holding of Istanbul, has placed an order for 14 N149/4.X turbines for its first wind project in Ukraine, situated near the city of Skole.
The order also includes a 15-year service contract.
Installation of the turbines is scheduled to start in March 2022 and the wind farm is expected enter full production in the third quarter of 2022.
Nordex Group will supply the turbines in a cold-climate version in order to ensure a high level of availability in the winter months.
Eksim has been in wind energy business since 2011 and now operates eight wind farms totalling 451MW in Turkey, all of them using Nordex turbines.
“We are pleased to be able to make a significant contribution to the expansion of wind energy in Ukraine with yet another project,” said Patxi Landa, chief sales officer at Nordex.
“We are happy to support Eksim with their first wind project in this country. Today we have capacities of 322MW in Ukraine connected to the grid.”
