Nordex has secured a 77MW turbine order from Energieversorgung Mittelrhein, Stadtwerke Karlsruhe and Thüga Erneuerbare Energien for the Schneifelhöhe wind farm in Rhineland-Palatinate, according to the company.
Nordex said it will supply and install 11 N163/6.X machines and deliver a 20-year full-service contract.
The project is located on the forested Schneifel ridge in the Bitburg-Prüm district, with the Delta4000 units designed to capture strong wind conditions at elevations between 630 and 670 metres, the company added.
Construction began in October 2025, with commissioning scheduled for the second half of 2027.
Felipe Villalon Waldburg-Zeil, director sales region central at Nordex, said: “We are very pleased to be making another important contribution to the energy transition in Rhineland-Palatinate with this project and to sustainably strengthen the region’s security of energy supply.”
He said: “For this order, we are working in partnership with the region’s leading utility Energieversorgung Mittelrhein (evm), Stadtwerke Karlsruhe, and Thüga Erneuerbare Energien.”
He added: “Our state-of-the-art Delta4000 turbines, specially designed for the region’s wind conditions, will be used.”
Nordex said the configuration offers innovative technology and long-term reliability for local clean-power supply.
