Nordex has received an order to supply an 83MW wind project in Rio Grande do Norte in Brazil.
The contract is for the supply and installation of 24 of the Nordex AW132/3465 machine and includes a service agreement for maintenance and repair of the turbines for a period of 15 years.
The project, which is the fourth phase of a 256MW wind complex, is located near to the city of Sao Miguel do Gostoso, on the Atlantic.
Nordex has also supplied 50 AW132 turbines for the first three construction phases. After completion of the fourth phase the wind farm complex will comprise a total of 74 turbines.
Nordex will install the 24 turbines on 120 metre concrete towers, which are being produced in its local factory in Areia Branca, near to the site.
The nacelles will be made Nordex’s Bahia factory and the company will also obtain the rotor blades from Brazil in order to ensure that the project includes the maximum share of local production.
