Norway’s Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has rejected an application from Norsk Vind to postpone the deadline for commissioning for the Skorveheia wind farm in the Flekkefjord region of the country.
The license for the Skorveheia wind farm had a deadline for commissioning of the plant on 31 December 2021.
In December 2020, Norsk Vind applied for a one-year extension of this deadline. In the application, reference was made, among other things, to a lack of planning clarification locally.
The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate rejected the application in March 2021.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Energy said that turbines cannot be built in violation of municipal plans, pointing out that Flekkefjord municipality is against the extension.
It added that there are no immediate changes in the planning status so that turbines cannot be realised at the project and that the wind farm had already been granted an extension earlier.
