Norwegian firm Advokatfirmaet Selmer DA has hired a senior lawyer from energy utility Statkraft, as it attempts to strengthen its renewable energy capabilities.
Håkon Sandbekk (pictured right) headed the transaction group in Statkraft’s legel department. He commenced employment at Selmer as a new partner on February 3.
“Håkon is one of the few lawyers in Norway with industrial experience within development, construction and financing of large and international wind power projects,” Selmer said, noting that he headed legal negotiations for the 1000MW Fosen onshore wind project in Norway and Statkraft’s offshore projects in the UK.
“Our goal is to build a broad and highly skilled team of lawyers in Norway to meet the need for highly qualified legal advice in connection with the shift to a green economy,” said Roy Slettvold (pictured left), the head of Selmer’s renewable energy and sustainability team.
