Oregon has approved Caithness Energy’s 399MW Saddle Butte wind farm on its northern border.
The department of energy has issued the site certificate for the project in Gilliam and Morrow counties, which will comprise up to 133 turbines, its website shows.
Construction works must start by mid-November 2019 and be completed within three years.
The project’s transmission line will be located within an existing 230kV transmission corridor and will use structures previously approved for the 845MW Shepherds Flat wind complex.
