OX2 has reached an agreement to sell the 32MW Marhult wind farm in Sweden to Octopus Renewables.
The Marhult wind project, outside Växjö, will enter construction in the first half of 2022 and is estimated to be completed by the end of 2023.
OX2 has developed the project since 2019.
Marhult will be the third wind farm Octopus Renewables has acquired from OX2.
Once commissioned, OX2 will be responsible for the technical and commercial management of the project under a 15-year agreement, optimising production and supervising its operations.
Octopus Renewables investment director Peter Dias said: “We’re hugely excited about this acquisition, which will play an important role in growing renewable generation in Sweden, a market where we’re continuing to expand our footprint.
“OX2 has been a great partner for us, and we look forward to working with them to get this wind farm constructed and into operation so we can help Sweden meet its climate goals.”
Marhult will comprise seven Vestas V150 turbines each with a rated capacity of 4.5MW installed at heights of 185 metres.
Kanonaden Entreprenad will provide construction services for roads, foundations and grid works for the wind farm, while Eon will be responsible for the main grid connection.
