Spanish oil and gas company Repsol has revealed plans for an 860MW onshore wind farm in the Aragon region of northern Spain.
The Delta 2 complex will comprise 26 individual projects located in the provinces of Huesca, Zaragoza and Teruel, Repsol said.
Delta 2 will be built and operated by the company’s subsidiary Repsol Electricidad y Gas and will be developed over the next three years.
The new complex brings Repsol’s renewable energy assets under development to 2045MW, with a further 2952MW already operational.
Repsol said work started in December on the Delta wind project in the provinces of Zaragoza and Teruel.
Delta will comprise 89 turbines in total with a combined capacity of 335MW and is expected online at the end of the year.
The company said the projects will contribute to Repsol’s goal of becoming net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
