RES has received federal approval for its 436.5MW Tarong West wind farm near Kingaroy in Queensland’s South Burnett region.
The developer said the 97-turbine project will enter construction later this year to support the state’s Energy Road Map.
The scheme had already hit other key planning and milestones including Development Approval from the State Assessment and Referral Agency in 2024 and a connection letter from the Australian Energy Market Operator and Powerlink Queensland.
“This progress reflects another important step towards delivering a high impact renewable energy asset for Queensland,” said RES.
“We extend our appreciation to the Department of Climate Change, the Environment and Water for their engagement and support throughout the EPBC assessment process.”
