Rezolv Energy has signed a grid connection agreement for the Dunarea East & West wind farms, a 600MW project in Constanța county, Romania.
The project is being developed by Rezolv in partnership with Low Carbon.
Dunarea East & West will share the same grid connection point, which will require the construction of a new 400kV interconnection substation to feed the power produced into the transmission network.
Work will commence in line with the Dunarea project timeline, with a view to the power coming onstream from 2026.
Dunarea East & West will be designed, constructed and operated to the highest environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards.
The clean power produced will be sold to commercial and industrial users through long-term power purchase agreements.
Marian Pavel, General Manager Romania, Rezolv Energy, said: “Signing the grid connection agreement is an important milestone for any renewable energy development.
“This is a major project, both for Rezolv and Romania as a whole.
“Along with the positive impact on the local communities, Dunarea East & West will generate a huge amount of clean power for corporate off-takers, offering companies long-term price stability and peace of mind over the security of supply – as well as an emissions reduction guarantee.”
Rezolv, which launched 18 months ago, already has well over 2GW of clean energy being prepared for construction in South Eastern Europe.
As well as Dunarea East & West, projects include Dama Solar in western Romania which, at 1044MW, will be one of Europe’s largest solar plants, the 450MW VIFOR wind farm in Romania’s Buzau county, and St George, a 229MW solar project in north-eastern Bulgaria.
