Senvion takes five in Belgium

Senvion has secured five contracts in Belgium totalling 45MW with several clients for 3.4M114, 3.0M122 and MM100 turbines.

The German company is responsible for foundation works and the delivery of four Senvion 3.4M114 turbines for the Nivelles project in Walloon being developed by Ventis.

Installation and commissioning are planned for the summer of this year.

Five MM100 turbines will be installed at the Molenbaix wind farm for Eneco and the Cooperative CLEF. Commissioning is scheduled to be complete by spring 2018.

A further four MM100 machines will be installed for Ipalle’s Moulins Saint Roch scheme, which is expected to be commissioned at the start of next year.

Both Moulins Saint Roch and Molenbaix are also located in Walloon.

Senvion will also supply three 3.4M114 turbines to Engie Electrabel’s Meerhout wind farm in Flanders.

Wind4Flanders will operate the project when it is completed at the end of the year.

One 3.0M122 turbine will comprise the Minderhout wind farm, which is being developed by Storm also in Flanders for commissioning at the end of 2017.

Senvion has agreed maintenance contracts for the Nivelles, Molenbaix, Moulins Saint Roch and Minderhout wind farms for 15 years with an extension up to 20 years.

Senvion will also provide the maintenance for the Meerhout wind farm for five years with an extension up to 15 years.

Senvion chief executive Jürgen Geissinger said: “We are pleased Senvion is continuing to strengthen its position in Belgium with the signature of these contracts.”
