Siemens is to supply 13 direct drive SWT 3.2MW 101 turbines to Eurus Energy Holdings for the 41.6MW Eurus Higashi Yurihara wind farm in Honshu in Japan.
The project, which will be located in Yurihonjo city, is scheduled to be operating in the spring of 2018.
The deal also includes a five-year service agreement.
Siemens Wind Power and Renewables Division chief executive officer onshore Thomas Richterich said: “Japan’s energy market is experiencing a liberalisation of electricity retailing and the outlook for future wind power business is very promising.”
