Prime Capital is investigating a blade breakage at its 92MW Sandbacka wind farm in western Finland.
The incident occurred on 14 August at the Ostrobothnia project, which features 14 Siemens Gamesa 5.X turbines.
In a statement, Siemens Gamesa said: “On August 14, 2025, a blade liberation incident occurred at the Sandbacka wind farm in Finland. No persons were injured. The area has been secured, and an investigation into the cause of the incident has begun. Siemens Gamesa is in close contact with the customer to address the situation.”
Sandbacka, located northeast of Vaasa, entered operations earlier this year.
The project was acquired from Svevind by Prime Capital in 2022 through its Prime Green Energy Infrastructure Fund and comprises 14 SG 6.6-170 units with tip heights of up to 200 metres.
