Siemens Gamesa has secured its first full-scope service contract covering another manufacturer’s turbines having won a contract with Polenergia in Poland.
The 23-year deal will see Siemens Gamesa provide service and maintenance for the 34MW Lukaszow and 24MW Modlikowice wind farms in the west of the country.
It includes availability and component warranty for 29 Vestas V90 machines.
Siemens Gamesa said the operational projects had been under service by another unnamed company for the last seven years.
Siemens Gamesa regional chief executive of service Northern Europe and Middle East Grant Walker said: “This contract showcases our strong competitive situation in the service and maintenance of wind turbines across all types and technologies.
“We are expanding our multi-brand services globally, and this contract in Poland with Polenergia is our first major milestone in Northern Europe.”
