Siemens Gamesa has signed a 40MW turbine deal to supply two wind farms being developed by PPC Renewables in Greece.
The manufacturer said it will deliver five 5.0-145 machines for the Doukas project and three of the same model to the Koukouli wind farm.
The contracts also include the maintenance of the turbines for 20 years.
The two projects, which are located in the Makedonia region, will power over 35,000 households with electricity.
The wind farms are scheduled to be commissioned in Spring 2024.
Siemens Gamesa Greece managing director Spyros Rozis said: “The two contracts we have signed are very important.
“These will be the first two wind farms we will install for PPCR, the largest energy company in Greece, with an incredible growth potential in the wind sector.
“We believe these two contracts will strengthen our partnership with PPCR and will also be the first of many more to come.
“We are happy to work together with PPCR to support the energy transition in Greece.”
PPC Renewables chief executive Konstantinos Mavros said: “PPC is committed to leading the energy transition in the country. Together with strong partners we are on track to meet our ambitious targets and our own green deal.
“Collaborations like the one with Siemens Gamesa are essential for the company’s growth and the group’s transformation. We look forward to working together.”
