Apex Clean Energy has sold the 202MW Sugar Creek wind farm in Illinois to a subsidiary of Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp for an undisclosed price.
The advanced-stage development in located in Logan County in the centre of the US state, Apex said.

Sugar Creek has a contract with the Illinois Power Agency to supply renewable energy certificates to utilities in the state, it added.
Apex chief executive Mark Goodwin said: “Sugar Creek Wind demonstrates the Apex team’s proven ability to identify and advance projects with strong fundamentals, including access to transmission, exceptional resources, strong community support, and financeable off take.”
