Wind-consult Measuring Company has ordered one of Nordex’s N117/3600 turbines in order to carry out tests at a site in Bargeshagen, near Rostock in Germany.
Nordex said the site offers good conditions to test the IEC-2 turbine, including wind speeds of 7.1 metres a second at hub height.
The analysis will check the power curve, the sound power level and grid compatibility, the company said.
The tests will help in the certification process for the turbine, which is expected to be completed next year, Nordex said.
Wind-consult Measuring Company managing director Joachim Schwabe said: “We are highly satisfied with our collaboration with Nordex and pleased that we have been able to provide a site for the complete measurement of the prototype.”
