UK energy consultancy TNEI has opened its first international office in South Africa.
The Cape Town office will provide a hub from which the company can offer its services to existing clients across Africa and the Middle East.
TNEI has worked on multiple projects in Africa, it said.
These include feasibility, design and optimisation for renewable energy projects as well as dynamics studies and compliance reviews.
The office will be headed by Kumbuyani Chisoro, an electrical engineer who has spent over 15 years working in the power industry in Ireland and South Africa.
“This office shows our commitment to working more internationally and opens up opportunities both in South Africa and in other areas of Southern Africa,” TNEI managing director Rachel Hodges said.
“Our specialist skills, developed through many years of integrating renewables projects in the grid, have been openly welcomed by manufacturers, developers and utilities in the region,” she said.
