Turbine support company TRG Wind has secured a contract to work on a retrofit programme covering more than 560 machines in Germany.
Works will start this month and are expected to last one year, the UK company said.
The deal has taken TRG’s workforce to almost 50, compared with 40 in June. It has also led to the acquisition of 16 vans and pick-up trucks, which will service the contracts from its new operational centre in Hull.
TRG provides wind turbine technicians and supervisory services to manufacturers and operators during construction, commissioning and maintenance of turbines.
“The contract in Germany is with one of the biggest and fastest-growing wind turbine manufacturers in the world and winning it is a significant achievement,” managing director David Elcombe said.
“The move to Hull has been a big success and we have already secured enough business to achieve 100 per cent growth during 2017.”
