Vattenfall has formed a strategic partnership with ABO Wind to jointly develop onshore wind projects in Germany, ahead of upcoming tenders in the country.
The partners have agreed to cooperate in the early stages of the development of onshore wind projects as part of plans that Vattenfall has to expand its onshore portfolio in Germany to 200MW in 2020 from 13.5MW currently.
ABO Wind executive Petra Leue-Bahns said: “Vattenfall as one of the large utilities offers security. This makes this partner particularly valuable for us.”
In total, Vattenfall operates some 930MW of onshore wind projects and will add about 300MW in 2017.
