Vestas has received a 43MW turbine order from Notus energy Plan for the Gunthersdorf wind project in Brandenburg, in eastern Germany.
Vestas will supply eleven V136-3.45MW turbines and one V126-3.45MW turbine for the site, which has low to medium wind conditions.
Deliveries are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2021, while commissioning is planned for the third quarter of 2021.
Vestas will service the wind farm for 20 years.
All 12 turbines will be delivered in 3.6MW power optimised mode with hub heights of 132 metres and 137 metres, respectively.
The turbines will also be fitted with Vestas’ ice detection system and the company’s bat protection system
Notus Energy Plan chief executive Heiner Roger said: “We started planning the project in 2008 with V90 turbines, later pursued V112 turbines, then got V126-3.45MW turbines approved after a few years, and finally optimised for the V136-3.45MW.
“An essential basis for the successful approval after a long planning period, is the close and trustful cooperation with Vestas.
“We are particularly pleased that the blades of the V136-3.45MW are being delivered from the nearby Lauchhammer factory and that we can make an even greater contribution to local added value with this project”.
