Vestas has entered into a conditional agreement with MidAmerican Energy Company to supply up to 1000 V110 2MW turbines for the 2GW Wind XI project in Iowa.
The agreement comprises supply and commissioning of the wind turbines, as well as a five-year active output management 4000 service agreement with options to extend for up to 10 years.
Delivery and commissioning of the turbines will occur between 2016 and 2019, if the project gains approval from the Iowa Utilities Board.
The Danish company said the deal also includes exclusivity provisions for Vestas to supply 100% of MidAmerican’s 2016 PTC Safe Harbor components.
