Vestas has won an order to supply turbines for the 40MW Pedra Rajada 1 and 2 wind farm complex in northern Brazil.
The Danish manufacturer said it will install 20 V110-2MW units at the sites in Rio Grande do Norte state for Spanish developer Gestamp Wind.
Turbine delivery is scheduled for the second quarter of 2017 and commissioning is expected in the third quarter of 2017.
The deal takes Vestas’ orders in Brazil, its fifth biggest market in 2015, to 212MW this year so far.
“Vestas has made a significant effort to expand our presence in Brazil, and today’s order confirms we are making good progress,” Vestas Mediterranean president Marco Graziano said.
