Vestas has secured a deal from developer CPC Germania to supply turbines to the 50MW Lakiakangas 2 wind farm in Finland, which is to be built on a subsidy-free basis.
The Danish manufacturer will deliver 12 V150-4.2MW units with 135-metre towers tailored to site’s “specific wind conditions”.
Installation, commissioning and a 20-year service agreement are included in contract scope.
Delivery is scheduled for the first half of next year.
Vestas northern and central Europe president Nils de Baar said the company is strengthening its relationship with the developer.
“This project demonstrates Vestas’ ability to deploy our most advanced technology and leverage our experience to develop a solution that allows us to offer a subsidy-free investment for our customer,” he added.
” The chosen turbine type V150-4.2 MW represents one of the latest and most efficient wind turbines in the current market today, hence allowing us to operate the wind farm in Isojoki completely market-based without any state subsidies,” added Erik Trast, managing director of CPC Finland.
