The East of England Energy Group will hold a series of events later this month showcasing offshore wind in the East Anglia region of the UK.
The Offshore Wind Week – East Anglia will run from 22 to 23 November at OrbisEnergy’s renewables hub in Lowestoft.
High on the agenda will be how to skill up people in the region to meet growing demand from the offshore wind sector.
Delegates will also hear about how a sector deal for offshore wind could impact the area.
East of England Energy Group chief executive Simon Gray said: “Our Skills for Energy programme is all about delivering skilled people to the industry for long-term careers and ensuring the existing workforce continues to meet the industry’s needs, now and into the future.
“We need to work closely with educational institutions as well as promoting the energy industry to people currently working in other sectors.
“In the east, we are in the best possible location in terms of the move towards electrification and being a centre of excellence.”
