VSB France has commissioned its first wind farm in the French département of Puy-de-Dôme with the Eoliennes de Tortebesse project.
The company said the site features 15 Vestas V110 turbines located a few kilometres from the municipality of Tortebesse.
It added that expected annual production of 78GWh will supply electricity to around 31,000 people and avoid approximately 70,000 tonnes of CO₂ each year.
During the 15-month construction phase, VSB France focused strongly on regional value creation and worked closely with local partners.
The project was fully financed by CIC Corporate & Institutional Banking, according to the developer.
In addition to project development, VSB France was also responsible for construction management as well as the technical and administrative operation of the wind farm.
“Projects such as Eoliennes de Tortebesse demonstreate how sustainable development, regional value creation and strategic partnerships can work successfully together,” said Dr Felix Grolman, CEO of the VSB Group.
“The combination of local expertise and international energy know-how is a key success factor for the energy transition in Europe,” added Grolman.
“Eoliennes de Tortebesse is our first wind farm in Puy-de-Dôme and a significant milestone for VSB France,” said Maël Lagarde, managing director of VSB France.
“With 15 wind turbines, we are making a tangible contribution to the regional energy transition and showcasing the strong potential of the French onshore wind market for sustainable power generation,” added Lagarde.
As part of TotalEnergies’ integrated power business, VSB makes an important contribution to expanding the group’s renewable electricity generation.
