Ventient Energy is expected to be granted a 10-year extension for its Trysglwyn wind farm on the island of Anglesey, Wales, on Wednesday.
The 14-turbine site will remain unchanged, according to planning documents submitted to the Isle of Anglesey Council, but will be serviced and maintained.
Ventient Energy has applied to extend the working life of the farm to 29 June 2031.
The company has also requested changes to two planning conditions included in the original consent, granted on appeal in 1993.
Under current parameters, if any turbine fails to produce electricity for a continuous period of six months, the turbine and any ancillary equipment must be dismantled, removed from site and the area returned to agriculture use.
Ventient Energy has requested this be changed to nine months.
Current conditions also state all turbines must be removed from site within six months of the wind farm being decommissioned and becoming unused.
The application seeks to extend the decommissioning period from six to 12 months.
The planning officer noted this is in line with a recent, similar repowering consent at Rhyd y Groes wind farm also on Anglesey.
Anglesey’s head of regulation and economic development service Iwan Jones recommended approval subject to 14 conditions, which ranged from monitoring of bats to keep noise emissions to below 40 decibels at the nearest neighbouring properties.
