Six wind projects totalling 1160MW were successful in an electricity auction held in Colombia, according to the country’s energy regulatory commission CREG.
The auction held at the end of last week allocated just over 4GW, with three hydro plants taking 1372MW and two solar farms 238MW.
The remaining capacity was secured by thermal generation.
The wind farms range in size from 98.85MW to 280MW, with the solar projects 68MW and 170MW.
Enel Green Power Colombia secured three wind farms totalling 491MW (195MW Windpeshi, 198MW Tumawind and 98.85MW Chemesky projects), as well as the 170M solar facility.
A company called Eolos Energia won with the 280MW Parque Beta and Vientos Del Norte with the 212MW Parque Alpha wind farms.
A total of 10 wind projects bid with capacity totalling 1599MW and three solar plants with combined capacity of 471MW.
