Infinis has installed a Zephir 300 lidar at its 43MW A’Chruach wind farm in Argyll in Scotland to replace a permanent met mast.
The lidar has been integrated into the Senvion Scada system for the 21-turbine wind farm.
The company said that the integration allows it to access the benefits of the lidar system, such as increased measurement height, ease of installation and reduced health and safety risks.
Infinis said it will install more Zephir units this spring and summer following its commitment to move solely to the lidar systems from ground-based met masts and turbine-mounted deployments to measure the power curve assessments and yaw calibrations.
Zephir 300 units measure wind at heights above and beyond traditional met masts from 10 metres to 200 metres above the installed position, Infinis said.
