Vestas is to cut its global office-based workforce by 900 as part of an efficiency drive.
The Danish company said a process will be complete by the end of this year.
Vestas will achieve the cuts through “natural attrition, redundancies, and release of third-party consultants”, a spokesperson said.
Around 190 of the positions will go in Denmark, it is understood.
“We recognise that saying goodbye to valued colleagues is never easy, but necessary steps to ensure we focus our resources where they create the most value,” they added.
“Vestas continues to make solid financial progress, and we regularly review our organisation to ensure we operate in the most optimal way.
“To make Vestas more simple and customer-focused, we are simplifying processes, improving efficiency, right-sizing parts of the business.”
The 900 roles equates to 2% of the company’s workforce, which has grown by around 3500 employees over the last year.
