Specialist energy recruiter Atlas Professionals has opened an office in Taiwan, the company’s 25th location, to focus on serving the expanding offshore wind sector.
Atlas’ said its established office in Singapore will work in close cooperation with the new branch in Taipei.
Atlas commercial director Martine Rondeel said: “Despite the current challenging situation we all face around COVID-19, I am very pleased with our expansion to Taiwan.
“It shows a further commitment to our clients by delivering local service and that we are able to focus on local content with the current travel restrictions.”
The Taipei office will enable the company to offer a compliant payroll and employment for locals as well as expatriates.
The Atlas team is currently supporting several developers and contractors in the supply chain and expects that this will expand with the local set up.
Rondeel said: “Establishing local footprint around the world has always been especially important to us.
“We’re looking forward to expand our support to the global and local supply chain in delivering successful projects in Taiwan, where offshore wind power is rightly regarded as an engine for energy and economic industry transformation.”
The challenge in Taiwan lies in finding qualified and experienced professionals because of localisation requirements, she added.
“Working in close collaboration with our clients, local education institutions and local government, we are eager to help preparing the workforce for future in Taiwan too,” Rondeel said.
“Atlas is very committed to support the development of the offshore wind industry in Taiwan, and the challenge ahead regarding human capital.”
