Fred Olsen Windcarrier jack up Blue Tern has secured a safety case from the UK Health and Safety Executive allowing it to work at oil and gas projects.
The safety case covers all services from accommodation support to offshore support, including installation, decommissioning, lifting, construction, maintenance and ROV support.
The safety certification covers operations in the UK and other continental shelves were such cases are required, Fred Olsen Windcarrier said.
“This is a testament to our safety heritage, dedication and expertise, enunciating our commitment to ensure that Blue Tern fulfills the needs of our diverse client base. As one of very few vessels with this approval, Blue Tern is unique in her ability to work safely and efficiently across energy segments.”
Fred Olsen used Blue Tern to install some of the 87 Siemens Gamesa 7MW at ENBW’s 609MW Hohe See and Albatros offshore wind farm developments in the German North Sea this summer.
