Collett opens Sherburn warehouse with Wilson Power

Collett & Sons has opened a new power distribution warehouse at Sherburn in Elmet, North Yorkshire, in partnership with Wilson Power Solutions.

The 2,735-square-metre facility expands Collett’s total storage portfolio to over 48,500 square metres across Halifax, Elland, Bradford, Goole and Grangemouth, supporting the handling and storage of transformers and other specialist power distribution equipment.

The site, fully leased by Wilson Power Solutions, features two internal bays with overhead gantry cranes rated from 5 to 20 tonnes, four 6m x 5m drive-in roller shutter doors, and a 5m hook-to-floor clearance for oversized cargo. External storage, 24-hour CCTV monitoring and eco-friendly design features have also been incorporated.

Collett manages daily transport operations between Wilson Power Solutions’ main facility and the new Sherburn warehouse, coordinating logistics and heavy-lift operations to streamline project delivery.

Collett sales director Mick Harland said: “The warehouse acquisition is another example of Collett’s ongoing investment to support our growth. It also allows us to better support our valued customer, Wilson Power Solutions, by providing fully coordinated transport and storage solutions.”

Wilson Power Solutions head of operations Jake Young said: “Partnering with Collett on this facility gives us the confidence that our transformers are in safe hands. Their experience in specialist warehousing makes day-to-day operations smooth and efficient and this collaboration strengthens our ability to deliver on time, every time.”

The launch event was attended by Collett directors Sam Collett and Mick Harland, alongside Wilson Power Solutions’ Jake Young and marketing manager Marek Skibinski.

Collett said its specialist warehousing continues to complement its transport capabilities, offering a fully integrated service for heavy-lift and out-of-gauge cargo.
