Spanish energy company Iberdrola is taking global measures in response to the coronavirus in all the markets the company operates within.
In Spain, Iberdrola has instigated an action plan, comprising 65 initiatives to deal with the virus.
The company has also implemented measures to protect its clients and a special plan in hospitals to ensure energy supplies.
It will hold the first telematic general meeting remotely to take care of the health of the company’s shareholders.
Iberdrola’s Avangrid subsidiary in the US has adopted prevention and health measures, including suspension of power cuts due to non-payment as well as a programme to manage bills and the rational use of electricity to reduce demand.
In Brazil, the Neoenerga business unit and its distributors have asked clients to prioritise digital customer service channels for the provision of services and emergency response.
A plan has been designed to give priority attention to the health, sanitation and water supply sectors directly related to the fight and containment of the advance of the coronavirus.
ScottishPower in the UK is taking all necessary steps to help protect the safety and well-being of its clients, colleagues and the communities the company serves.
In Mexico, Iberdrola has activated a plan to protect its workers and collaborators, as well as in Italy, Portugal and France.
In addition, in Italy, given the harshness of the current situation, the company has adopted measures to protect vulnerable customers and give flexibility in paying bills.
