EDF Energies Nouvelles has increased its control of French renewable energy company Futuren following a simplified public purchase offer.
The developer now holds 87.5% of Futuren capital and 87.2% of voting rights according to the French financial markets regulator Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF).
EDF EN completed the acquisition of a 67.2% stake in Futuren in June and then launched a fresh offer to offer to buy the 32.8% it didn’t own earlier this month.
“We are very satisfied with this result and would like to thank all the shareholders and bondholders who contributed to the success,” said EDF Group renewable energies senior executive vice president Antoine Cahuzac.
“We will now concentrate on the cooperation between EDF Energies Nouvelles and Futuren,” Cahuzac added.
Futuren currently operates 745MW of onshore wind assets in Germany, France, Morocco and Italy.
