Enercon is ramping up series production of generators for its E-175 EP5 E2 turbine at its Magdeburg-Rothensee centre of excellence.
The company is preparing the industrial ramp-up phase for the new model amid strong market demand, it said.
Production volumes are being steadily increased to ensure timely delivery to wind farm construction sites, it added.
Production of the new E2 generators began in Magdeburg last November and has since been gradually expanded.
The E-175 EP5 E2 has a nominal power of 7.0MW and a rotor diameter of 175 metres.
Heiko Juritz, chief operating officer at Enercon, said: “We aim to steadily increase the production volumes to ensure timely delivery to the wind farm construction sites.
“We can only succeed in protecting our climate and environment by working together. The wind energy sector and government need to pull together to make the energy transition a success.”
