R Power is developing a 650MW battery storage portfolio in Poland after winning long-term capacity market contracts.
The company said the three projects – Jedwabno, Tursko and Gdansk – total 2300MWh and represent one of the largest storage pipelines in Central and Eastern Europe.
Each asset secured a 17-year contract in Poland’s December 2024 capacity auction at 264.9PLN/kW/annum.
R Power said this ensures revenue stability and reinforces the projects’ value to the grid and investors.
Jedwabno is ready-to-build with construction due to start in late 2025, while Tursko and Gdansk are close to RTB and scheduled to go live between 2028 and 2029.
The company added that the portfolio is designed to support renewable integration, improve grid flexibility and create revenue opportunities across multiple markets.
R Power said all projects have applied for funding from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, with decisions expected later in 2025.
The developer is advancing development, procurement, financing and offtake strategies for the assets.
R Power added that with more than 29GW of projects under development across six European markets, it is positioning storage as a core business pillar in its renewable expansion.
