US energy storage outfit FlexGen is developing two energy storage projects, totalling 220 megawatt-hours of capacity, in Texas.
The two 110MWh standalone battery storage projects are located in Texas Hill Country.
When deployed, the systems will serve as dispatchable assets for an undisclosed leading independent power producer, FlexGen said.
The company is working with lithium ion battery producer Contemporary Amperex Technology Company Limited (CATL) to supply the systems.
FlexGen chief operating officer Alan Grosse said: “We are pleased to expand our relationship with CATL on the installation of these two 110MWh battery storage projects.
“CATL’s technical and commercial teams have been good partners, and we look forward to working together to serve more Texans and their families.”
To date, FlexGen said its HybridOS energy management system platform controls more than 260MW and 171MWh of energy storage projects in operation.
