BayWa has completed over €100m financing with Norddeutsche Landesbank (Nord LB) for three wind farms in Italy totalling 66MW.
The Arlena and Tessennano projects located in the Lazio region were commissioned in October last year and have a combined capacity of 18MW. They comprise nine Vestas V110 turbines.
The third wind farm is the 48MW Eolica San Lupo facility in Campania which will come online in July this year. It will feature 16 Vestas V117 machines.
Nord LB global head of structured finance Heiko Ludwig said: “We gladly support BayWa to promote the transition to renewable energy in Italy.
“With the current financings we show that we accompany our customers with qualified consulting and services not only regarding a wide variety of technologies, but also across European borders.”
BayWa Italia managing director Alessandra Toschi said: “After more than 10 years of development, we are now close to the completion of the projects.
“San Lupo, consisting of 16 wind turbines, is one of the most powerful wind farms in Italy, and we have been also involved in the construction of a complex grid connection.
“We are very pleased that with Nord LB we found a strong partner for financing the projects.”
