Growth in renewables helped drive Enel’s net income to €4789m last year, up almost 27% from the €3779m posted in 2017.
Revenue was €75,672m in 2018, a rise of 1.4% on the €74,639m reported in the previous year, while EBITDA grew 4.5% to €16,351m from €15,653m.

The revenue was boosted by clean power growth in Italy, Spain and North and South America, the company said. Higher average sale prices also contributed, it added.
Over 3GW of new renewable energy capacity was added last year, with the Enel Green Power subsidiary described at the company’s “growth engine” by Enel chief executive Francesco Starace.
Renewable energy accounted for 39% of the company’s generation mix in 2018, up from 33% the previous year.
