Amprion has awarded a contract for the civil engineering work for the DolWin4 and BorWin4 onshore connections, to transport energy from offshore wind to the onshore grid.
The transmission system operator has awarded the contract to a consortium, comprising Max Streicher and De Romein.
The first works should begin in 2024.
The two offshore grid connection systems DolWin4 and BorWin4 connect offshore wind farms in the German North Sea to the transmission grid in the Hilgenriedersiel area (municipality Hagermarch) and then to Emden.
The consortium will build a cable protection pipe system, within which the underground cables will be later housed.
The lines will be installed in a 43km section parallel to the DolWin1 cables that have already been put in place.
