Dutch company Primo Marine has won a tender to provide submarine cable burial and protection expertise for the 1.4GW Viking link between the UK and Denmark.
The cable engineering outfit said it will provide the services during the preparation and execution of the cable installation tender, as well as during the cable installation.
Under the terms of the contract with Energinet.dk and National Grid Interconnector Holdings, Primo Marine will also offer offshore installation and burial specialist services.
The 635km high voltage direct current interconnector is scheduled to be operational in 2022.
